Flourish Robots Emerges from Stealth with a $3,555 Home Robot That Learns Chores in 30 Minutes

San Francisco-based Flourish Robots emerged from stealth on 29 September, introducing Flourish 1 — a home robot priced at $3,555 that the company says can be taught household tasks in about 30 minutes using a mobile app. Backed by Families Fund, the startup is positioning the device as an accessible alternative to more expensive humanoid robots now entering pre-order.

The teaching method relies on physical demonstration: owners show the robot a task using their phone, and Flourish 1 can then repeat and schedule the activity. Supported tasks include picking up shoes, clothes and toys, loading a dishwasher, wiping tables, watering plants, fetching items and clearing a cat litter box. No coding is required.

Pre-orders for the first 50 units opened on 29 September, with deliveries beginning in December 2026. The price point is notably lower than competitors. The 1x Neo humanoid robot is expected to cost around $20,000, while Weave's Isaac 1 starts at $7,999 up front or $449 per month. Flourish is betting that a more affordable, task-focused robot will find a broader consumer market.

The key question is whether the robot's learn-by-demonstration approach works reliably across the messiness of real homes, with varied layouts, lighting and objects. A 50-unit initial run suggests Flourish is taking a cautious rollout approach, which is prudent for a category that has historically struggled to deliver on ambitious promises.
