Infleqtion Entangles 30 Logical Qubits on Its Commercial Neutral-Atom Quantum Computer
At the Quantum World Congress 2026, publicly listed neutral-atom quantum company Infleqtion (NYSE: INFQ) announced it has entangled 30 logical qubits on its commercial Sqale quantum computing platform. The experiment encoded those 30 logical qubits into just 80 physical neutral-atom qubits — an 8:3 physical-to-logical overhead ratio — using the company's Superstaq software to compile circuits efficiently for hardware execution.
The milestone fulfils Infleqtion's 2026 roadmap commitment and represents the largest logical qubit entanglement demonstrated on a commercial neutral-atom system, according to the company. The distinction between logical and physical qubits matters: logical qubits are error-corrected units that can sustain reliable calculations, while physical qubits are the noisy underlying hardware. Reducing the overhead needed to get from one to the other is one of quantum computing's central challenges.
The 30-logical-qubit capability is already being applied commercially, including in the Wellcome Leap Quantum for Bio programme for GPU-trained biomarker discovery. Infleqtion reported record Q1 2026 revenue of $9.5 million and revised Q2 revenue to $13.5 million, signalling that the company is generating meaningful commercial traction alongside its research milestones.
Infleqtion's roadmap targets 100 logical qubits by 2028 and 1,000 by 2030 — milestones that would push into the MegaQuOp era where machines can sustain roughly a million reliable logical operations per computation. The announcement came in the same week that IonQ demonstrated a real-time single-CPU error-correction decoder and the US Department of Energy released a national quantum computing roadmap. The quantum field is clearly entering a phase where the conversation is shifting from whether error correction can work to how fast it can scale.
